    Great topic. I think it is in our nature as mental health therapists to imagine “there must be more I can do” and that if an individual chooses suicide then perhaps they simply weren’t provided all the support and resources available to them. That being said, it’s important that we (mental health professionals) change our own relationship with suicide and consider the meaning(s) we place on it. What I really took away from this roundtable was the idea of how important it is that we are able to set aside stigmas and preconceived notions around suicide and SI to better connect to our patient’s experience and what they are trying to express.
